ALESSANDRO CADAMURO was born in Venice Italy; he's an artist, poet and performer.
Education: High School of Arts, degree from Accademia di Belle Arti (Fine Arts Academy) in Venice, professional video courses JVC (from Milan) at Palazzo Fortuny/Venice.
He worked in the studios and with the team of artists of Palazzo Carminati in Venice (Opera Bevilacqua la Masa). He was given several scholarships in other countries so he worked in Canada, USA, Germany and Austria.
Alessandro Cadamuro uses glass as the basic element of his works.
In 1980 he launched the manifesto "Vetropittura & Vetropoesia" (GlassPainting & GlassPoetry) for his glassgraphical works called "Vetro-cantore e Poevetro" (Glass-chanter and Poeglass) as conjunction among sign, sound, transparencies and light.
He conceived and made numerous sonic glass-sculptures as: "Vetrocantore" (Glass-chanter), "Vetrofono" (Glass-phono), "Tambuvetri" (Drum-glasses), lo "Spaccavetro" (Glass-breaker), il "Vento del Vetro" (The Wind of The Glass), la "Macinatrice di Vetro" (the =lass-grinder), "Packing Glass in Glass Boxes", "MicroVetroVideoInstallation", "VetroNeon" (GlassNeon), "Vetrotrappole" (Glass-traps), "Vetrorganica" (Organic Glass), "Vetracqua" (Glass-water), "Vetrosuono" (Glass-sound).
Alessandro Cadamuro uses to sign, carve, scrape, hit, crush and assemble not only glass but also other transparent and/or semitransparent materials such as plexiglass, resins, rubbers, silicone, plastics, electromagnetic elements of sound and/or light amplification and ready made objects. Since 1981 he collaborates with the international magazine Poesia Zeta in Udine and has been carrying out the "object books" called "Transparencies" as well as exhibitions and performances having the Poetry as main subject.
In 1990 he published the book "Estensione Critica" with Editoria Universitaria of Venice (editor: A. Gardin) and in 1995 he published "Poevetri-Poesieglaser" (italian-german) with Edizioni della Biblioteca Cominiana edited by Pierluigi Rebellato.
From 1977 as film maker he made several films and videos regarding his research in the field of Art and participated in various festivals on Art movies and artists biographies. He is a member of the Cinema Indipendente Italiano. He's also member of Centro Studio Vetro of Murano.
